CHICKEN IN TOMATO SAUCE (AYAM SAUS TOMAT)


This recipe was acquired from a good friend of mine on facebook, Dewi Sari.
I was first attracted to the way it looks on facebook photos before I finally decided to ask for the recipe.
When I got the recipe, I cooked the dish the next day. It turned out to be Astrid’s favourite menu.

RECIPE IN ENGLISH


Chicken in Tomato Sauce
(AYAM SAUS TOMAT)

INGREDIENTS:
1 kg of chicken drumstick
5 cloves of garlic, chopped
1 medium onion, halved & sliced thinly
6 tablespoons tomato sauce (or as you wish)
Salt and chicken broth powder to taste
1 tablespoons of baking powder
4 tablespoons of lemon juice
3 tablespoons vegetable oil


HOW TO MAKE:
Remove the fat from the chicken. Wash and pat dry.
Marinate with the chicken with lemon juice and baking powder for 30 minutes in the fridge.
Grill chicken until fully cooked and all the chicken is browned, then take out and put aside
Preheat skillet with the vegetable oil until smoky.
On the skillet, sauté onion until soft, put garlic until fragrant.
Add tomato sauce, salt and chicken broth powder and stir.
Turn down the heat low.
Mix well and let simmer for a couple minutes.
Add chicken and toss quickly.
Ready to serve with warm rice.


RESEP DALAM BAHASA INDONESIA


Chicken in Tomato Sauce
(AYAM SAUS TOMAT)

BAHAN YANG DIGUNAKAN:
1 kg paha ayam
5 siung bawang putih, cincang
1 buah bawang Bombay ukuran sedang, bagi dua dan potong tipis-tipis
6 sendok makan saus tomat (atau sesuai selera)
Garam dan kaldu ayam bubuk secukupnya
1 sendok makan baking powder
4 sendok makan air perasan jeruk lemon
3 sendok makan minyak goreng


CARA MEMBUAT:
Buang atau bersihkan lemak ayam. Cuci dan tiriskan.
Rendam ayam dengan perasan air jeruk lemon dan baking powder , kmudian taruh didalam kulkas selama 30 menit.
Bakar ayam sampai matang sambil di bolak balik hingga berwarna kecoklatan, Kemudian angkat dan sisihkan.
Panakan minyak goreng didalam wajan sampai berasap.
Tumis bawang Bombay sampai lunak dan bawang putih sampai harum.
Tambahkan saus tomat, garam dan kaldu ayam bubuk, aduk rata.
Kecilkan api.
Sambil terus diaduk dan biarkan selama beberapa menit.
Masukkan ayam dan aduk cepat dengan saus tersebut.
Siap untuk dihidangkan dengan nasi hangat.
